Modern electric measuring - EN50160
International organization CENELEC made EN 50160 regulation in 1993 for measuring voltage on the spot of transmission to the consumer in low-voltage and mid-voltage networks in normal working conditions. Until 1995 all European countries have accepted this regulation. Slovenia accepted and started implementing this rules in 1999 and Croatia is planning to accept this regulation in 2007.
Main goal of these regulations is to adopt standards about quality of electric power that is delivered to the consumer. These regulations measure frequency, size, shape and symmetry of voltage.
Regulations are very thorough and except the protection of consumer, they also protect the manufacturer and energy transmitter from numbered defects.
Quality of electric power is very seriously taken in all European countries. For example, for repairing low quality of energy in France, 25 billions of Euros were spent.
